Understanding the need
For a project to be successful and for the content to be well received the culture of the organisation must be understood. It is important that the customer works closely with Knowledge Solutions to explain the cultural issues that may exist within the target audience. Knowledge Solutions will then take these into consideration or suggest different approaches that may overcome them. The commonly encountered issues can be split into business factors and cultural factors.
Project Team
Knowledge Solutions assign a Project Manager to each project to act as a central point of contact, or even lead the project where required. With experience of the Knowledge Solutions tools, delivery methodology and project management this is a key component in the delivery of a successful project. The project team will be created very early in the project, once the requirements and timescales are understood but usually include:
- Project Owner/Manager
- Subject Matter Experts
- Content developers
- Testers/reviewers
- Pilot users
Multiple roles may, in reality, be filled by one person. For example, the intuitive nature of the Knowledge Solutions authoring tools enables the Subject Matter Experts to capture and create lessons.

Project Review and Sign-Off
Throughout the course of the project the Knowledge Solutions Project Manager reviews the project progress against the Implementation Schedule regularly. Informal progress reviews are held with customer team members on an adhoc basis, with more formal progress reviews given at project meetings as required. The implementation Schedule will be updated and passed to the Project Owner weekly to ensure transparency of progress. Any issue which has a significant impact on the project plan is assessed by the project manager and raised with the customer project team immediately so that they can review the situation and propose actions to be taken.
Ongoing Support
Once the project is complete it can be easy for the content to become stale and lose ownership. Knowledge Solutions can arrange for regular reviews and updates to keep the content fresh and to ensure the customer gets best value from the tools by helping them identify new projects and demands that may be met using the Knowledge Solutions toolset. This helps to increase the Return on Investment and embed the tools so they become part of the change culture within the organisation.
The investment in the internal developers creates a long term relationship with Knowledge Solutions. We provide regular update newsletters to keep them abreast of new features and tools and they have access to our online Knowledge Base and Self-Service Support Centre.
